COMPETITION RULES
1 The competition is open to everyone with no age limit.
2 The sessions will be in public (with free entry).
3 All pieces will be played continuously without restarts. All pieces will be played from memory except for piano concertos. Musicality and style will be judged alongside technique.
4 Each inscription implies the acceptance of the rules, the candidates must present themselves at the time and date which will be communicated to them eight days before the competition. Only candidates present at their convoked time will be accepted.
5 In no case will the costs of the inscription be returned except in the case of the cancellation of the competition.
6 The Jury reserves the right to interrupt the candidate during the execution of their work and to not award prizes in all cases. In case of any dispute the decision of the President of the Jury is final. The Jury reserves the right to not award the first prize if they consider that the quality is insufficient.
7 The decision of the Jury is final. No appeals are possible.
8 The CCSV reserves the right to modify or cancel the date of the competition should the number of candidates be judged insufficient.
9 The results of the competition will be announced publicly at the end of each category. The first prizes will be distributed to the winners at the ‘Concours des Laureats 20 janvier 2008
10 The winners are responsible to receive personally their prize, if not the prize will return to the compettiion fund.
11 Candidates are reminded that photocopying sheet music is forbidden ( law of 11/3/57 Code Penal art. 45).
12 All incurred travel expenses are at the charge of the candidate.
13 Candidates who obtain the Premier Prix in the Virtuoso class cannot present themselves again in the following 5 years.
